Abstract

Abstract
The causes of the fall of civilizations are one of the important questions and problems of civilization studies, which have been answered with different approaches. The current research has tried to find the answer to this question with a religious approach and relying on Quranic verses. The method of this research, the method of textual research and its analysis was based on the method of contextual theory. This research is organized in three axes of the concept of civilization, analysis method and research findings and has reached the conclusion that negative developments in the two dimensions of livelihood and knowledge of the three dimensions of civilization play a role in the downfall of civilizations and the biggest role from the perspective of the Qur'an in Authority is the epistemic dimension and component of religious beliefs. In addition to this dimension of civilization dimensions, the negative change and transformation of four components of the six components of civilization in the subsistence dimension also causes the downfall of civilizations. These components are social system, political system, economy and norms and laws.
